According to our history books, the original Patchouly was born in 1989, fueled by Etro's fascination with the Orient. But what they also tell us is that since the day it was launched, the fragrance has been an astonishing success. Sales figures were beyond astronomical, reaching stratospheric heights more than expected. It’s safe to say that this at its time and still the most popular perfume in the world.

Etro's Patchouly is a warm gourmand perfume whose beauty is as seductive as its name suggests. It begins with a burst of orange and bergamot right up front. Immediately afterward, you get slight notes of geranium and rose, followed by a hint of woody nuances of sandalwood. Nearing its base, Patchouly dries into a herbaceous accord of cypress, fresh mint, and an exotic bush patchouli gourmand scent with a sticky musk that wraps around a creamy vanilla bit and resinous amber. The result is a yummy and oh-so-addictive scent, with genderless boundaries.

It opens with a fresh, lively, joyful mocktail of orange and bergamot with a herbaceous hint of artemisia. The herbaceous accord continues to the depth of the Herbal Mint with the presence of an exotic bush patchouli, cypress, and refreshing and cooling green mint.
