Black Opium makes an impressive first impression with a pleasant, and floral curtain of jasmine. Top notes include mandarin, pear, pink pepper, and liquorice, while the core of the perfume notes are jasmine and orange blossom. The scent begins with a burst of orange blossom right up front, transitions into a smooth vanilla with notes such as cedarwood, patchouli, and coffee. The overall scent is pleasant with a light touch of the florals.

In the original form, YSL's Black Opium comes as an Eau de Parfum, also available as a gift set. If that isn't enough Black Opium EDP Extreme exists too, a darker version of the original with fewer sweet undertones.
